The Saturday Re-Run

I forgot to tattle you a several of things about my barber department store incident yesterday, chief among which is the assess. Inflation being what it is, the appraisal of a haircut in Portales went up from nine dollars to ten. Still second-rate, after all. But I pay about half again as much as I Euphemistic pre-owned to, when I patronized the sheep-shearers at the Cannon AFB Inferior Swop. The upside is I get a much more in person live and better servicing, to boot. The usual heyday-in-the-chair at the BX was about seven minutes, on the casing; I spout at least 45 minutes in the chair yesterday. Yesterday my ten dollars (plus tip, of progress) bought me a beard embellish, too. The downside is Jay doesn't from head to toe have the fleshly attributes of my former barberess, who off treated me to negligent and unintended, in a ruttish way, brushes with her sissified bits. Those were nice. I first met Rick in Klamath Falls, Oregon. We were both stationed at Kingsley Lawn, he a meteorological furnishings technician, me a radar guy. I’m not actually trustworthy how we first met, but I’ll never fail the first tempo I walked into his lodgings in the dorm. Rick was a bit older than the normally green enlisted troop, being in his mid-twenties. Old, for a two-striper. Rick was also, to put it mildly, a bit uncanny. He had a influence for old Americana, and by that I degraded his prized possessions were, only to name three, a fully-functioning Underwood typewriter, circa 1925; a smashingly finished and immaculately lacquered propeller from an old Jenny biplane; and an indigenous and pure 1941 Mercury two-door sedan that had been in his kith and kin since it was new. The prop and the typewriter were prominently displayed in his dorm chamber. I acquainted with to sweetheart riding around in that old Merc, too. Rick had an antiquated 30-caliber handgun in the glove box of the Mercury and had the confusing clothes (to me) of sometimes pulling off to the side of the avenue while we were riding around the Oregon countryside to pop off a few rounds at gophers and other assorted varmints. Out the window of the Merc. Most of the measure he’d fire out of the driver’s window, other times he’d lank across the residence and fire out of the traveller window. Drove me nuts, that did. Brief post a duo of months, to my birthday. I had the day off and was prevarication in my bed in the dorm original in the morning, wondering what I was gonna do, when someone knocked on my door. I got up, answered the door, and let Rick into the chamber. Rick told me to get dressed and settle with him; he was prospering to give me my birthday allowance. We went to breakfast first, brunch, literally (Rick bought), then got into Rick’s old Toyopet Cedric and drove off-core into The Ville (Fussa Diocese, integrity front Yokota’s largest passage.). Rick parked the car, we got out, and he said “practise me.” We then walked down an alley and into a barber rat on. There waiting for us was an old man, the barber, and two unfledged Japanese maidens, all three smiling broadly. The old man waved me into one of the barber chairs, and I dutifully sat. The old man reclined the barber chair and I stretched out, fully sluggish. One of the girls then proceeded to take off my shoes and socks, while the other fetched a chunky troublemaker of steaming towels from a container. She artfully wrapped my total wholly in those towels, leaving a niggardly seat for me to suggest through. All the while this is current on, the other popsy is washing my feet. After a few minutes, the half a mo miss unwraps my mug and the barber proceeds to pare me. The first piece is still working on my feet, giving me a pedicure and ending up with a prolonged and wonderful foot kneading. After the barber finished shaving me I was escorted to a collyrium represent where the first wench washed and towel-dried my tresses. Then it was back to the barber chair for the true to life haircut while the two girls gave me a manicure. The whole trial ended with both girls massaging my sound topmost portion. I walked out of that scene climate like a million bucks, and I’ve Barry: Thanks for that associate! I saw unequivocally a few of those grotesque old cars during my first circuit in Japan in the last '60s... it brought back some memories. The pics at the tie up also made me appreciate that Rick didn't have a Toyopet "Cedric," coz Cedrics were Nissans/Datsuns. But I DO be acquainted with that he had a Toyopet Something... and it was a Big-Ass dark-skinned sedan.
